digital project 3 Flyer Design

we were encouraged to do a real event and potentially kill two birds with one stone. spoke with Anglie about making one for fucktoast's ep launch.
got a whole bunch of specifics and hiccups for my troubles.
I actually quite like the way it turned out. felt like I was finally finding my feet with photoshop.
I doubt they'll end up using it.

Austin Osman Spare

As I'm too fearful to present my findings in front of a(in all likelihood, small) group of my peers. I have elected to present the visual component of my research assignment here;

Being that there is some debate about the actual date of Spare's birth let's begin by saying that he was born before the turn of the 20th century and the beginning of what Crowley termed The New Aeon.
Here he is being handsomeand a portrait he drew of Crowley (who was wary of the potential threat Spare's occult talents presented, and rightly so)Spare had masterful command of figure and portrait detail

and an abiding interest in the occult;

Here's a book written by the Rev. Robert Benson who he stayed with(or at least one with the same name, which appears to be on the same subject)

He did a lot of self-portrait...I would too if I were that handsome.



Here he is being old and looking like Kurt Vonnegut jnr. snr.
He died in 1956 at the age of sixty-nine.
